A long-time analyst of Malaysian elections, Dr. Welsh shares her on the ground observations of GE15 from across Malaysia. She discusses major issues in the 2022 campaign, patterns of voting behavior, key differences from earlier polls, and possible projections, with special attention to dynamics in Perak.

Bridget Welsh is currently Honorary Research Associate with the University of Nottingham Asia Research Institute Malaysia (UoNARI-M) based in Kuala Lumpur. She is also a Senior Research Associate of the Hu Feng Center for East Asia Democratic Studies of National Taiwan University and a Senior Associate of The Habibie Center. She specializes in Southeast Asia politics, with a focus on Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Indonesia.  She is a columnist for Malaysiakini and Between the Lines.
