Pei Sin is a forester and has been a conservationist. She has been involved in agriculture as well, these past few years. She has worked in various capacities with Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), TRAFFIC the Wildlife Trade Monitoring Network, and International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO).
Now lecturing at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) she believes education is an important channel to create for a better, hopeful tomorrow and Earth. With conservation at heart, she also provides Continuing Tourism Related Education (CTRE) to Kuala Lumpur Tourist Guide Association (KLTGA). Additionally, she is an adviser to Ecotourism & Conservation Society Malaysia(ECOMY), and serves as a committee member to Perak Association for the Intellectual Disabled’s (PAFID) Sekolah Semangat Maju, Ipoh.
Her expertise ranges from technical to policy work to international environmental agreements. Her publications in both forestry and agriculture include Lao People’s Democratic Republic Forestry Outlook Study (2009), Review of Trade in Merbau from Major Range States (2009), A Collaborative Programme for Sustainable Trade in Tropical Timbers (2010), The MD2 ‘Super Sweet’ Pineapple (Ananascomosus) (2015), The Yam Bean (Pachryhizuserosus), A Popular Root Crop in Malaysia (2017) etc.
She believes only collective consciousness of humanity will make sustainability realisable at the end of the day!
